where are the best priced places to buy things like :
new appliances(washer/dryer,etc) tiles, flooring, paint, etc.

sometimes pc richards has deals like buying 3 appliances for $1500 or so. check in the paper, they usually have full page advertisments.

check out sams, bjs, costco too...sometimes they get good ones....we wound up getting some at lowes, some at best buy and some at sears.....shop around for what you like and need and then look at brands, model #'s and prices....
google for coupons too! Thats what we did - you'd be amazed how 10% off adds up on bog appliances!

also, if you are at a chain store, buy closer to your house to save on delivery fees and stuff.....we learned this one!

We found that Lowes had great prices and we bought one of their floor models (a fridge) and saved about $500.
PC Richards has a "scratch and dent" store - their warehouse on Commack Rd in Deer Park. Some of the stuff is a little scratched or dented - nothing major though - and my dad was lucky and found a $1499 fridge there with a scratch on the side (and that side faced the wall so no one ever saw it) and he only paid $450!!

Jays on Hempstead Tpke in Levittown. I used to go to the big chains but got screwed by them, we found Jays thru a salesgril at Sears who reccomended them to us, and have been buying ever since. ( We even sent them a thank you note!!)  HTH

At Circuit City, you can bargain with the sales guys, so that may get you a good price.
