scenerio and questions for all you schedule PRO's

So my dd is almost 3 months and we have had a pretty great schedule for a while
6oz bottles at 5am, 9am, 1pm, 5pm, and 9pm. Give or take a half hour. Now it seems to be changing and here is what I am noticing. After her 5pm botlle she plays for a lil and then gets really tired. By around 7pm she is sleeping and then I have to wake her most nights for her 9pm bottle. It takes forever to feed her because she can't stay awake and sometimes will only rake 4-5oz. She finishes, gets swaddled and falls right to sleep

But now she isn't sleeping until 5 anymore. It went to 4am to 3am and now 2:30am. I am so confused. And hate that we are not on a good schedule now. I know something has to change but not sure what

I NEED your ideas and suggestions please. I go back to work on the 11th and need. A schedule worked out. I am too anal to just go with the flow lol. I am a teacher. I live by a schedule lol

TIA
Jess

I would up the oz by like 1-2 during the day. If she passes out by 7 dont wake her. Try it for a day or two and see when she wakes at night if at all.

I'd give her nighttime bottle at 7 and try to give an extra ounce or two then and let her sleep if she doesnt wake up dont wake her. So id maybe try to change her schedule so that shes due to eat around then

Sorry...Your kid is going to change regardless of YOUR schedule.

At about 3 months, our DS bedtime went from 9 to 7PM. This was a horrible thing for us because I work late at a very OCD job (I love schedules too!) that gets me home no earlier than 5 PM and usually 6PM. I tried to fight it: it didn't work: he was MISERABLE. I later found out that all my friends and family who had kids with late bedtimes at an early age had real issues with sleep. Of course, no one said anything until their kids were MUCH older.

Now we have a 7PM bedtime. Last bottle is 6:30PM. He sleeps through the night (until 7AM) after adjusting a bit... he woke up for a few nights at random times like 3 or 4 AM. Naps are fewer & shorter during the day.

It could be a few things...My 1st thougts are a growth spurt and my second is she is awake more. Every few months they change. My suggestion is let her sleep and when she wakes up feed her then. Give it a few days and you'll notice a new schedual. Do you have a true bedtime routine? This worked wonders for us! At about this time she started going to bed at 7p instead of 9p and slept for 12hrs! We did a warm bath, massage, read a book, bottle and then right into her crib awake or not. She is 14mon and when it's bed time or nap time she goes into the crib awake and either plays for a few minutes or crashes out ON HER OWN. People thought I was crazy, but it worked for us. I should also add the bath book bottle bed thing started when she was like 3wks, but this is as good a time as any to start!!

It sounds like she wants to be sleeping earlier. I wouldn't wake her for that 9 pm bottle. Also, is she draining the bottles? Maybe you can up the ounces.

Anthony's schedule is very much like Emerson's.

Bottle or Breast at 7:00, 10:00, 1:00, 4:00, 8:00

He goes down for the night with the 8:00 feeding. He was STTN for a little while but is now waking up at 3:00-4:00. I change his diaper and put him on the breast and he is down again until 6:00 or 7:00.

His bedtime WAS 10:00 but he just can't go passed 8:00 anymore. He would probably go down even earlier but DH doesn't get home from work until 7:00-7:30, so I keep him up for him to see Daddy. I am a new Mommy too, but I say just go with the flow. There is really no way or controlling what they need/want. I am finally seeing some structure in his days and I am pretty sure it will just get better and easier from here!

At 5 months we still don't have a schedule...one day shes up at 3:30 to eat, the next 6:30am, its all over the place. I think they are still too young to have a steady schedule. Hang in there!

Re: scenerio and questions for all you schedule PRO's

DS has pretty much the same schedule since 3m, I don't agree with schedules changing that much.

If you need the baby on a schedule, they will follow it, and no baby was ever harmed by a healthy schedule, but some can become very fussy when there isn't a schedule.

I would up the ounces for daily bottles. Drop the 9pm bottle and see what time she wakes. My guess is that she'll soon be sleeping till 7am. Or at least not getting hungry till 7am.
