Scared to try for #2
I developed pre eclampsia at about 35-36 weeks with my dd (she is now 19m) and ended up having a csection at 37 weeks beacause of it.
So now dh and I are ready to try for #2 and we are bothe really nervous, him so a lil more than me. I know I now have a higher risk for pre e. But what makes us worried is what if I get it earlier this time. I know people who have had to deliver really really early because of this. My obgyn obviously will monitor me very closely and he is a high risk dr so that's good. But he did mention if I develop it early it could mean a long hospital stay/bedrest. And now with a child at home I can't imagine how difficult that would be.
Did anyone have pre with one pregnancy and not the next?
Did anyone develop pre e very early? And if so what was the procedure to treat you and what was the outcome?
I don't want to be scared my entire pregnancy of what could be, but I am already stressing about it and we haven't even ttc yet lol

Scared to try for #2
I had pre E with DD1 and had to deliver early. No issues with pre E with DD 2 and went to 39 weeks to my scheduled csection. In fact, I felt GREAT with DD2 as opposed to the craptastic way I felt with DD1

Re: Scared to try for #2
My cousin had severe Pre-e and had to deliver her son at 31wks. She went on to have another baby 14m later and ended up having her at 38wks, no Pre-e problems. (she was closely monitored the whole time of course) no complications

Re: Scared to try for #2
My sister had it with both of her kids. She didn't have to deliver either of them earlier, but it was worse the 2nd time.

Scared to try for #2
i had severe pre-e and HELLP and delivered at 33w. i am scared of it happening again and my DH is petrified and has considered Em being out only child.
ive done a lot of research on this and read many many stories. whether you get it again or not is a total crapshoot. some people get it worse some people dont get it at all.
do you know if you have any pre-existing conditions that are pre-cursors to pre-e? i have done a ton of research on this and although most causes are unknown, having any blood clotting issue or immune response to pregnancy can lead to inflammation at the site of placental implantation. although this occurs very early in pregnancy, the inflammation can cause a poor connection between placenta and uterus, which can result in third trimester issues like pre-e. i was lucky enough to have several issues that made me at higher risk for pre-e and i will be at a higher risk next time around and probably see a peri.
according to the pre-e foundation: The findings suggest the risk of having it again is approximately 20%, however experts cite a range from 5-80%, depending on when you had it in a prior pregnancy, and how severe it was. If you had preeclampsia during your first pregnancy, you may get it again. While repeat occurrence is often milder, no one can predict for sure.

No personal experience, but I'm a research nut. It is possible to have pre-e with one pregnancy and not another. Every pregnancy is different.
Em will make a great big sister!! Get hopping!
