saw the heartbeat!
We saw the heartbeat today! At 7 weeks, 4 days.
This is good, right? I was so worried sick about this....and we saw it! It just looked like a blinking light.
I am thrilled but also a little nervous b/c the RE said that there is still a chance of miscarraige. Do they usually say that? Why so negative? I know a lot of girls on here see the HB much sooner than 7 weeks, do you think that its slower than normal and that is why they are saying that?
Should I be happy? optimistic? What should I be thinking/feeling?
I have to believe that in 3 weeks, we've seen it go from an empty sac, to a sac with a yolk and pole, and now a heartbeat. This is great, right? So why can't I relax and enjoy this?

It's so nervewracking! But you saw the HB and that's great news! It will start to get easier to relax as time goes on.

I think your progress is a pretty good indication as to where you will go from here. Things have only gotten better! There is always a change of m/c....but my OB said that once you see the heartbeat that the chances decrease dramatically. So keep your head up!

I knew it! You are right on schedule, with sac, pole, heartbeat, etc. I can't say relax b/c I understand. But just know you are on track, all looks great so far!
The reality is after seeing the HB your chance of MC drops, but the most drop in chance of MC is after the first trimester. I think your dr is just telling you the reality, not sugar coating it, but just being realistic. That's why I didn't tell ANYONE until 13 weeks were up.
But all you can go by is, so far so good! And take it day by day.

i am so happy for you!! it really sounds like things are moving in the right direction.
not sure why your RE made that comment - probably so that on the off chance that you did miscarry, you wouldn't be totally shocked. but still, if i were you, i would definitely be more optimistic at this point!
when is your next appointment?

Thats amazing!!!! Congrats!!! It's still nerve racking I know...I was nervous throughout my first tri, and am still nervous and am nearing the end of my second tri!!!!!

Great My doc said once you see the heartbeat at 8 weeks its a good sign, stay positive, dont let them be negative

if you saw the HB today, then i would try and go thursday, you'll be 8W 4 D and you should definitely be able to hear the HB with a transvaginal utrasound (i heard it at 8 weeks!)
you'll be amazed at how much that baby can grow in only a week

Once you see the heartbeat, you risk of having a miscarriage goes down significantly, according to my OB, so that is GREAT NEWS!!

You should be estatic and I don't know why they would make that point to you   Of course, everyyone knows there's ALWAYS a risk of m/c. You're situation does not sound any more high risk than the average so you should be totally excited!

I don't understand why they would be negative and say there is still risk of miscarriage.

It's VERY hard to allow yourself you believe this is actually happening. At least it was for me. I would get SO anxious about every doctor's appointment.
Now at 27 weeks I get anxious that I'm not feeling  enough or that his kicks have become less strong.
I think until we actually get to see and hold our babies we are going to feel that way. And then we'll start worrying about taking care of them!!

That is wonderful new and a huge milestone. Positive thinking and prayers is all you can do. Like everyone said the chances of MC diminish by a lot so enjoy what you can now because time is gonna fly by. Im soo happy for you congrats!!

Congratulations! I know exactly how you feel. I have seen/heard the heartbeat about 3 times now (with my RE and OB) and am 8w2d. I am still worrying constantly! Your fears are completely normal. Please know you're not alone!!
