Did anyone see it today? I went while my kids were at school this morning, and I LOVED it! Emma Thompson played the part well. Such a great movie!

I'm surprised your DS liked it! I definitely didn't think it was a movie kids would understand.

My DS 7 is dying to see this, but I see its rated pg-13. He is obsessed with all things Disney, including Walt. Anything inappropriate from the ladies who already saw it?

I don't think it's inappropriate, but it's a mature story line IMO. It's nothing like Mary Poppins at all. I think there is a site that rates movies and whether they are appropriate for kids, I can't remember the name of it though!

My DS is 10, he followed the movie well enough but he is really into movies, a few of his friends got bored with it. It's not for younger kids or even for most 10yo.
I think the PG 13 is due to the alacholic father, they show him drinking liquor and being drunk. They also show the mom attempt to drown herself but that's more subtle. My DS picked up on the drinking but not the suicide attempt.
