SAHM/Working part-time/Working from home?

How many are planning to be a SAHM? Working part-time? or Work from home?

just curious...

I am planning on working from home and occasionally going out to see clients on the days when my DH can work from home. My DH and I waited six years to TTC so that I can have the choice to work from home or be a SAHM.

I am going to work part-time in the office and do some work from home for the first year. I work for My dad's company as the Financial manager, so as long as I can log in I should be fine. I just hired an assistant so things should work out smoothly!

I'm working from home 2 days a week, and my DH 1 day a week. I'd love to be a SAHM later on.

Re: SAHM/Working part-time/Working from home?

I plan to be a SAHM for the next baby, but DH works fullt time and it's going for his 2nd MBA. I plan on staying home for as long as FMLA allows though, then going back to work 4 days a week instead of 5. Dh will try to work from home 1 day a week too. So the baby would only have to be in daycare 3 days a week. It all depends on what our jobs allow us to do. We both have lots of time put into to both companies. What makes things harder is that the only family with me in CT is my bro and SIL, everyone else is on LI.

I am going to be a SAHM until Feb (baby will be 4 months old) and then I will go back to work 2 nights a week and pick up a weekend day here and there if things go well. We are hoping to work my hours around DH so that he can be home with the baby most of the time and have my mom with her the few hours in between.

I am a full time SAHM to my 17 month old Andrew. I am also PG with my second. After Andrew was born, I told my company I woud be more than happy to do some consulting work at home, which worked out fine for a bit. But once Andrew got older, I couldn't find the time to do the work at home anymore.

My DH is off on Thursday (he works Saturday), so I would go into the office then to get some work done. That worked out better because I just couldn't do works work and watch Andrew too.

After baby #2 arrives in May, I will not be doing anymore consulting work on the side.

Re: SAHM/Working part-time/Working from home?

I work 20 hours a week from home. Pretty much two hours in the monring and two in the adternoon when Jack naps. It is getting a lot harder now though since he just turned one, has been walking for two months and is into everything. So if he doesn't take one of those naps each day, it's pretty rough. I do have the flexibily to work at night or whenever I can get the work done, so that is a huge help.

I am a SAHM and I am going to school from home to become a nutritionist. Then I will work from home and be able to make my own hours so I can be with Kaylee as much as possible.

Re: SAHM/Working part-time/Working from home?

When I have the baby in Nov, I plan on being a SAHM for an undetermined amount of time. I quit my part time job 2 weeks ago and am not able to return to that job because the hours were too late for me and just wouldn't work out. Since I'm only part time, I'd basically be working to pay day care and that wouldn't make much sense.

I wish I could be a SAHM. I wanted to go back to my job but they want too many hours from me so I might have to look for something else.

I will be home for 3 months then working only 3 days a week per diem, but bringing home the same amount of pay as I am making now full time.

Re: SAHM/Working part-time/Working from home?

Ultimately, I'd love to eventually be a SAHM or work Part time....staying at home was so boring for me when I did it this summer with just my dogs.

We can't afford it right now, so my baby will come to work with me and I might cut back on my hours. But once we have all our kids and they are in school, I'd like to be home for them when they get out of school
