SAHM daily activities

I have 22 m/o twins and a 4 m/o at home. We are home most days because it's just too dificult to get out these days. I feel that I am soooooo frustrated most of the times because despite having a large playroom with lots of toys for the kids, they are always near me. I feel so bad for getting mad at them, but I wonder if I am just doing it wrong. I do play with them each day, but I do need to do my own chores also.
What kiind of things do you do each day with them? Do your kids always follow you around? Do you ever yell at your kids?

Re: SAHM daily activities

my dd is my only child shes 6 months and some days i feel just like this! and the days theres nonaps its even worse. my apt is trashed because the time i would spend on chores i spend playing and entertaining and and by 8pm im completely drained. i try and make it a point to get out everyday (obviously easier with only one child) just to change up the boring daily routine. once the weather is nicer i think things will get better (i hope) Chat Icon

Re: SAHM daily activities

I felt this way when I was home and even now on the weekends. The days can seem long, even if you enjoy being with the cutiepies!! When I was home (I, also, only had one child to pack up) tried to get out once a day. For me, I'm addicted to Starbucks, so I'd go to one near me with a drive-thru. Sometimes that's all we did and other days we were able to go from that right into the stroller for a walk. Just a little bit of that fresh air really helped me. And believe me, there were days I went for 3 walks!!!

Re: SAHM daily activities

wow I could have written your post to the tee! Only I have 2 (29 mo and 12 mo)

I wish I can get out..i used to with one all the time...but with the weather and nap, meal routine it is a lot easier said than done! We color, playdo...(in the high chair) that is usually when I get something done - clean up from a meal or throw a load of laundry in!

we dance to the music choice channels or youtube their Fav song (boom boom pow, single ladies..Chat Icon , frosty the snowman-still cant get enough from Christmas) we play roll the ball on the kitchen floor, When my DD gets cranky and doesnt want a nap Ill put on a dora episode...it kinda relaxes and refreshes her! We do lots of reading books!! WE play ring around the rosey, or other hand motion songs (Her new fav is "Open, Shut them...") My DD loves her books that are puzzle oriented where you read the story and place the puzzle piece on the page to coplete the story..

if think of more..I'll add..lol kinda just went through my day yesterday and today!

I hope I can add going out for a walk to the park when the weather gets nice!! HAHA!

Re: SAHM daily activities

I think having a toddler is all it takes to feel like you are going to lose your mind, and you have 2 and a NB. I think how you are feeling is totally normal.

My DS is 25 months and there are some days I think I might lose my mind.

In the AM we either have library class, or run errands. If we stay in, the Am is generally when I get stuff done around the house. DS is really independent, but sometimes he will bring a toy into the room I am working in, or he might ask me to come play. THen I will take like a 30 min break to play.

After lunch we usually play for about 30-60 minutes. But I try to keep it calm becuase after this its story time and bedtime.

After nap, we either have a playdate with our playgroup or I try to do puzzles, play doh etc with him.

Then at 5ish he plays by himself while I cook.
At this age every day is different, some days he is very independent, other days he wont let me leave him alone!

Re: SAHM daily activities

I only have 1 (going on 15 months) but I can totally feel where you are coming from with the 3. I cannot wait for the spring to get here already. Lately we are home a lot with the cold weather but try to get out once a day but it doesn't always happen. Once a week we do music class and I'm looking to also do some type of gymboree since DS is very active. Most of the day he is very attached to me especially since he is teething right now.
