Running Injuries??? Meniscus help
I fee like every since i had my miniscus surgery 3 yrs ago....my knee just is not getting better.
I love running! I have finally been getting back into it and running 3-4 days a week 2 or 3 miles. I have done pliates reforming for the past yr which has helped to build up all the muscles surrounding the knee.
However, now for the past week....my knee just not feel right. It feels like it is rubbing against something....and does not feel smooth (if that makes sense when i bend the knee)...it feels like clicking. It sometimes will have like a quick pinching feeling?
Anyone else have a miniscus injury...and have the Arthoscopic surgery? They removed a large portion of mine.
Just curious if anyone had gone through this and still had constant trouble with their knee?
Anyone know what it sounds like is wrong with my knee now?
Thanks for reading this long post

Re: Running Injuries??? Meniscus help
I don't know first hand, but I did meet someone at a run who had a large part of his miniscus removed and he ran a marathon 11 week later. He runs with a band, but he says that his doctor says it's a psychological cruch - but that there wasn't anything wrong with using it.
Have you tried a band? I would check out with your dr too. I think this same runner said he had the surgery twice.

Re: Running Injuries??? Meniscus help
I don't have any good advice for you but my sister is having surgery for the same thing in 2 weeks.
Thank you for sharing your information and mentioning pilates. I'm going to tell my sister about that, and that it helped you. She's pretty bummed that she can't run right now.
I hope you get good results and feel better!

Thanks!! I am waiting to get my test results from the Dr. I am just praying i do not have to get this surgery again.
Goodluck to your sister! She will prob have to do physical therapy for a month or two after. Then tell her to try Pilate Reforming...(it has to be on the machine). It is all very light resistance with very similiar excercises just switching the angles of your feet and leg...(to work all the muscles from every angle).
