Running during 2WW

Question for any runners out there who are TTC....I am a runner who has not been running much lately. After doing my first half marathon in May, I have been taking it easy due some hip pain. I still run on the treadmill 1-2 per week, for maybe 3 miles, and do other cardio like spin and the elliptical. Anyway, there is a local Thanksgiving race that my family usually runs and I would like to do it this year. Its an 8K (5 miles). My concern is that I will be in the 2WW during Thanksgiving....I know its ok to continue exercising as you usually do during this time, but since I havent been running as much lately, it could be strenuous to my body. I just had a chemical last cycle so really dont want to do anything to hurt my chances, but at the same time, dont want to put my life on hold while waiting for that BFP. WWYD?

Re: Running during 2WW

i would do the run. if i didn't, and didn't get a BFP, I'd be so upset that I'm letting TTC rule my life. But I have the same thought every time I'm doing a spin class or whatever... like is this hurting my chances.

I'm also a former runner with hip pain who has stopped running because of it, so maybe I'm biased. I would love to be running right now.

don't put your life on hold for this; it will take over.

Thanks for your input. I am leaning towards doing the run. I know I will really enjoy it and would feel crappy if I'm sitting on the sidelines, especially if the BFP doesnt come this month. Another concern is raising suspicion with my family if I dont do it...I run it every year, so if I pass, even if I blame the hip, I'm afraid they might suspect I am pregnant, which is the last thing I want if it doesnt end up happening soon.

Sorry about the hip pain- it can be extremely frustrating!

I will be in the 2WW at that time, and will be doing a turkey-trot that morning as well! If you were able to do a half marathon, then 5 miles should be nothing to your body!

Re: Running during 2WW

It's not a problem. I ran during every 2ww, including the one that ended with a BFP. (4ish miles, 2-4x a week). That level of activity is fine. Have fun at the race!
