Re: runners.... question for you

I usually try to follow some training schedule. I usually have a race in the not so distant future, but if I didn't, I would follow a 10K training plan.

If you are running 15 miles/week = ~1500 Calories = ~.5 pound...if you are eating to maintain.

I have a weekly mileage goal to reach. I run 6 days a week.

On Sundays, I run a long run of about 10-13 miles. Usually the length will depend on how I feel. The rest of the week is more or less based on what I have going on. I usually run for 60-75 minutes.

Is this enough for weight loss or just maintain??

I think this depends on the person. If you have been running 15 miles a week for a while and are maintaining your weight then you should look into upping your mileage. I hit a plateau with working out a while back and increased my runs by about 5 minutes a day and was able to lose about 3 additional pounds.

Re: runners.... question for you

I was doing about 3 miles a day 5 days a week for a while a couple 4 miles here and there a few 5
when it got really hot at the end of july and august i stopped running (a run or 2 here and there) but basically wasnt running much

so now after a few weeks I am back on track and want to lose some weight so I am eating right and running I have to add some miles in but I dont have the time so maybe I will have to add in another day

I run about the same as you. For me, it is only enough to maintain. I think part of the reason is that my body is sooo used to it. Other then training for a few half marathons, I have been running pretty much the same mileage for years

Re: runners.... question for you

Sunday I run about 5 miles

Monday is my day off

Tuesday i run about 4-5 miles and then do pilates or yoga

Wednesday I do cycle for an hour

Thursday I only warm up with a 1.5 mile run b/c I do weight traning

Friday is my day off

Saturday is usually my long run 6 miles and then one hour of intermediate mat milates with the ring which is amazing and stretches out my muscles!

I have been doing this for a while now and lost a lot of weight but I was also doing ww. I am still doing ww and this schedule but am eating a bit more and maintaining.

Re: runners.... question for you

I think that is just enough to maintain.
