Re: Rudy Giuliani
I think he did his part in terms of cleaning up Time Square (and only Time Square). New York Magazine had a great article on his claims of reducing the crime rate in NY. During his tenure the murder rate dropped 74% Overall the entire nation's rate dropped.
Unfortunately, during his tenure, he turned into a egotist who we had to practically toss out of office after he tried to put off the elections. I don't think I need another meglomaniac President who can't see the error of his ways.
His family life doesn't concern me as much since I believe the majority of Presidents & many, many C-level executives were no better than him to their wives.

Re: Rudy Giuliani
I totally agree that he cleaned NYC up - but (and I'm not trying to be snarky here) so did Hitler, Franco, Mussolini. Again, I'm not comparing Guiliani to any of them, I just don't think I can elect someone based on that.
I worked for NYC while he was mayor and therefore my "boss" and I think he was an awful one. Does anyone remember the massive marches of teachers, firemen, police, city workers, etc that were constantly protesting because he had a surplus of money, but told us that he wouldn't raise our salaries to catch up with the surburban numbers b/c we had it too easy as it was?

Re: Rudy Giuliani
I don't believe it matters if he will make a good president, he has a slim and none chance of winning. Unless he has some miraculous showing on Super Tuesday.
ets: spellcheck is not working for me and i know miraculous is spelled wrong.

Re: Rudy Giuliani
He would make an ok president, but since he's dropping out of the race this is a pointless discussion.

I think he's done pretty soon - he got MASSACRED in the Florida primary tonight - he got 15% of the vote
That's what I was going to say. At this point, he's expected to pull out of the race soon because he doesn't have enough support.

Re: Rudy Giuliani
I think the way he chose to run his campaign is a clear indication of why he wouldn't make a good president. He chose to forget about the "smaller" "insignificant" states and put all his eggs in the Florida (note: retiree village for NY'ers) basket.
He exploits September 11th like no other...forgetting that he was despised up to September 10th and grandstanding for actually doing his job as Mayor of the city. He didn't do anything outrageously newsworthy - he did his job.
Forget his personal side - the way he abused his office to carry on an affair (the same thing Clinton was crucified for) and his own children wouldn't even vote for him - I can't get past his Daffy Duck voice. It's bad enough we have a half-illiterate president in office now, we want a Disney character in there next? No thanks.
