Rubella Test....
Hi Everyone,
I went to my ob/gyn appt today and informed him that I will be TTC starting in Feb/March of 2007 - he said just to keep exercising because whatever you were doing before you were pregnant, you can do while you are pregnant....
The other thing was he gave me a prescription to have blood work done to check for immunity to Rubella...he said we are all vacinated when we are younger but sometimes in some people immunity stops....so if that is the case, they vaccinate you again and then you have to wait 3 months to TTC...so he said do it now....
Anyone else have this test done?

My dr wanted me to get all that blood work too. It all came back fine and i was able to start TTCing if we wanted. It actually was a nice ease of mind.

I think it's routine, I had it when I was pg. And it was a good thing b/c it turns out my immunity wore off, so they gave me a booster before I went home from the hospital (after I delivered). You can't have the shot while you're pregnant.

Yeah that's what he told me. So since I want to start ttc in Feb/March, he thought it would be good to get tested now, so if I needed the shot, I could have it and it would fall into my time frame.

Yes, I had the test done and they said that I was not immune to it, so I got the vaccanitation and then had to wait to get pregnant......funny thing is, when I did become pregnant, my OB did a rubella test and said I was NOT immune (even though I had the shot)  I will need another shot after the baby is born.....

I am bumping this because I went o my RE for my CD3 bloodowrk andthis was included.
I just found out that I am not immune to Rubella for some odd reason and have to wait on TTC.
Just an FYI, do your bloodwork when TTC

I went last week and had it done and I haven't heard anything yet - how long did it take your DR to get back to you with results?

forever I went for my cd3 bloodwork 10/31 
The re's office was saying they couldn't believe my primary dr never picked up on this, in my mind, why would they?
