RSofNY - do you need a referral?
I realize everyone's insurance is different, but generally speaking, is this someplace you can just go on your own or would you need to be referred there? If you *do* need a referral, would that come from an OB/GYN or a PCP?

If your insurance doesn't require referrals, neither does Rsofny. Basically, I would call my insurance and check with them, what their protocol is.

I just made an appointment with Dr. Saketos for August. My insurance (magnacare) didnt require a referral, I just called and asked for an appointment. I just received all of my paperwork from them in the mail and this is the list of companies that they require a referral from:
Oxford hmo (liberty/freedom)
Empire bcbs (hmo)
HIP
Vytra
Cigna
Aetna (must call hotline 800 575 5999)

If you require a referral it can be from GYN or PCP

We have Empire and we needed a referral from our PCP.
