Roller Coasters
I am going to Fl next week and I would really like to go on the Roller Coasters. I will just be done ovulating so pretty much in the 2WW period and am wondering what you ladies think. Have you heard anything about this? Would you go?

Re: Roller Coasters
It's a hard call. It's probably fine since who even knows if you're pregnant yet and even if you were it's nothing more than a few cells. However, I know myself and I have a hard time not being aware of the fact that I may be pregnant in the 2WW and I tend to act pregnant and watch what I do or eat. KWIM?

I normally would say its fine but if it were me, I know I would be second guessing it too.I know I am the type that would rather be safe than sorry.

Re: Roller Coasters
I don't understand the worry? The embryo would be COMPLETELY protected in there. There are layers of muscle, fat, the uterus, fluid, etc.
Later in pregnancy the worry would be placental abruption, but even that's unlikely.

Re: Roller Coasters
I tried searching this for you and all I am finding are warnings not to do this when you are pregnant and well into your first trimester. I'm not finding anything that says it has any effect on TTC. But that's not to say that you shouldn't be a bit cautious. My vote is not to limit yourself but just try not to over do it. And maybe you might want to be weary of any roller coasters that have tight straps and harnesses that press down into your belly area.

Honestly, she could be in a straight jacket and a girdle and it would not make a difference. The embryo is REALLY well protected in there.
ETA: Picture your embryo sitting in the center of a jar of peanut butter. Unless it fails to implant (for whatever reason, that doesn't include being shaken) it's not going anywhere.

Re: Roller Coasters
I have to agree with the PP. I remember going through many of the same "what if" worries when TTC and through my first pg, so I understand.
I PROMISE that going on a roller coaster during the 2WW isn't going to dislodge or prevent anything. If jerky movement could do that, then we'd all be told to just lay around during the 2WW, not told to go on "business as usual".

Thanks - Good to know. I'm always afraid that the littlest thing could knock something out of place. I have to keep reminding myself how tiny an embryo really is.

Re: Roller Coasters
Pshaw..... I remember wondering if I might be able to "push" the embryo out when going to the bathroom. (BTW- you CAN'T)
The things our brains worry about when we want something really badly.

Re: Roller Coasters
I'm sure it's fine, but I wouldn't do it unless my doctor assured me that there was no possibility of it affecting implantation or that if I already implanted it wouldn' hurt anything. That's just me though and I always would rather be safe than sorry.
