Robutussin
This month I'm doing the "Deanna's plan" approach; in reading up on it I saw that taking a robtussin expectorant helps to increase CM (which I haven't had much of, and pretty sure I haven't seen any ewcm since starting TTC this summer)...
I saw a bunch of different expectorants (CF,DM etc...) but none that was just an expectorant.... I ended up buying the cf since it said it helps with nasal congestion, and since I have a bad cold- I figured it could be twice as helpful Does anyone have experience with this? Does it matter which kind of robutussin (couldn't find plain expectorant in name brand or store brand) How often do you take it? Deanna's plan suggested a few hour before BDing, but then I read on here; some doing it round the clock throughout the day...
TIA

Re: Robutussin
You can use Robitussin or Mucinex. You just have to make sure that whatever one you get has guaifenesin in it. That is the active ingredient that women use to thin the cervical mucus.

Re: Robutussin
It has to be just expectorant. Guaiphenesin as main active ingredient. Anything else may be for drying up mucus. You don't want that. You can buy store brand,. Doesn't have to be name brand. Super market, CVS - any pharmacy, Target. They all have it.
Guaiphenesin increases the flow of natural secretions. From what I have read, you are supposed to take it during your fertile week. Do a search on it. There are quite a few threads on the subject on here.
I used it for a few cycles and noticed no difference. But it has helped others. Doesn't hurt to try!
