RMA vs Cornell
Hi My DH and I are taking a TTC break this month, getting healthy by eating better and working on ourselves.
I was 100% done with clomid and LIVF really wanted me to do more clomid cycles. I have met with both rma and cornell on long island and both are very nice and agreed to try injectibles if not IVF.
We have unexplained infertility but I can overstim my ovaries easily- so they say. I was wondering what your thoughts were on follitism and the two RE's I am very torn.
Thanks so much!

Re: RMA vs Cornell
You know I love Cornell, Dr Pak Chung!! He is prob one of the warmer RE's in the office, many are strictly business.
They are both Great Groups, I looked at both when I started my search. They both have the highest Success rates and our Top Research Centers.
Hopefully the change in RE's will bring you your BFP!!!

Re: RMA vs Cornell
I used RMA. Could not have been happier. My RE was at an outside office (not NYC) of RMA & I loved him. It helped that the outside office was very close to home because the monitoring visits really increase in frequency when you move to follistim & IVF.
I liked the fact that RMA was outside of a hospital... that's just personal.
I'd ask both about $$ for an IVF cycle. I understand that that can fluctuate & you will be paying out of pocket what your insurance does not cover... so start saving up.
I had success with RMA. Unexplained infertility.
Good luck!

Re: RMA vs Cornell
We started at RMA (in the city) and I hated it!! when they told me to stop treatments and go straight to ADOPTION (they said there was no hope for us to have a bio child together!) in desperation I switched to Cornell (best thing I ever did) which gave me my miracle DC!!! we are currently TTC#2....
Cornell's lab is superior to others (#2 in the country) and they have the best overall results! Try Dr Chung who has the best bedside manners ever!!

Re: RMA vs Cornell
I think they are both pretty highly rated places. I used RMA (in the city) for my first go round (almost 4 years ago) and was pleased overall. I started with RMA in Garden City 2 years ago and was not happy at all.
A friend of mine uses Cornell and has only good things to say about them.
I also think that a lot of this is so variable and depends on each person and the circumstances. You have to be comfortable in the environment and confident in the doctors and the protocol.

Re: RMA vs Cornell
No experience with Cornell, but I went to RMA in Manhattan and I had a very good experience. No success, but I really liked my Dr. (Copperman) and the staff were so professional.

Re: RMA vs Cornell
Another recommendation for Dr. Chung at Cornell! I switched to him after no success with Columbia. Currently 36 weeks pg after 4 1/2 years trying.

Re: RMA vs Cornell
I also was at RMA (actually started at RSofNY and they did the same thing with the clomid), now I'm at Cornell. I only switched when I was not having success and I wanted Cornell all along (as they are the #2 clinic in the country behind CCRM). Also wanted to try co-culture, which is something RMA didn't offer. And the timing was perfect for when they opened their LI satellite office in GC. I think the difference is that one is a university and conducts research and the other is good at what they do. Does that make sense? Even Dr. Davis (whom I see) said that RMA's lab was excellent. So it comes down to where you feel more comfortable.
