I just began and currently am with East Coast Fertility. I don't know anything about any of these 3 programs, but from reading past posts, LIF is suppose to have a good program. I am not sure if they share a list of donors. I am interested in this answer also. Good luck.

Also, I don't think I want to meet the donor.

Re: donor egg programs? cornell or liivf?

Hey, LI-IVF has a DE Seminar on Wednesday night. I think they are less than Cornell for a single cycle (we would like at least 2, so having some frozen is a good option, plus I have learned that DE doesn't always work the first round). They seem to have great stats and they claim there is no wait.

LI-IVF Donor Seminar

I am also looking into Cornell, since I am currently a patient there. Cornell is $34k for a single cycle and $18k for a shared cycle. Everyone there does a shared cycle. Waiting time is 6-12mths for a match. I think they only show you a baby pic. Waiting time would depend on your requirements, of course. I do understand that they now work with some agencies. I also know a few people going through this and they are a little frustrated with the staff there in the DE program.

I am also looking into New Hope Fertility because they have a egg donor bank. There are like 3 or 4 of these around the country. Its a new way to go and its much much cheaper ($7,500 for 3 eggs, $8,500 for 4). I am in touch with someone that had gone through a cycle there. She just found out it was a BFN but she thinks it has to do with her lining not the emby's which looked good. And she has one frozen blast. But, I am going to follow her and see if she has success. Its so new and it just seems too good to be true. But, it does eliminates most of the difficulties with DE (like donor changing their mind at last minute, not getting enough eggs and having to force your cycle to run parallel to the donors, not to mention there is no wait if they have a match for you).

Anyway, we are going Wednesday night. I thought my DH would not be into it but he surprised me.

Re: donor egg programs? cornell or liivf?

LI-IVF seems to have one of the better programs.
They have spreadsheets of the donors with all of their info -age, background, prior donor history, bloodtype, hair color, etc. so that you can pick the person who matches you closest. Check out their website for a sample donor sheet. They also have no waiting list if you do a single donor. If you share, then you have to wait for someone else who wants to share.
I would definitely check out the seminar and see what their options are.

We attended the seminar and it was very impressive. Got good information and will take it with me when comparing other RE's and IVF centers. I am gathering all info before we decide what to do.

Where were you sitting? We came in last and sat in front next to Oriana.

in the back, across the room. I am so glad you posted that seminar. If I must use DE, I am so much more comfortable with my decision. I liked the extra testing the do on the donor. I will be asking my other RE's that I consult with in the next few weeks what their testing of DE includes.

I hope you don't mind me butting in, but I've been an ED once and am currently in the process of my 2nd donation... so if you have any questions that you'd like me to answer please feel free to FM me.

I know, I was very impressed with what they said last night and when I visit another clinic to compare, they set the standard in my mind. Though I think if we go this route it will be with LI-IVF. Just a gut feeling on that one.

And although I knew most of what they were saying last night, it was really good for DH to go so he could understand (and ask questions, which he did). Because lets face it, I'm his wife, he would never listen to a word I say....LOL...

Though right now I didn't see any donor (except maybe 1) that would work for me. But, I'm not ready right now, maybe in a couple of months to make my decision. I was just telling someone that I never realized I was so attached to myself. If that makes any sense.
