RIP Benny...
This evening I had to make the toughest decision of my life...to put my dog to sleep. DH couldn't be there in time for the last appointment at the vet's office, but I'm so thankful my mom stepped in for him. She traveled 2 hours to come to my house today so I didn't have to bring Benny by myself.
I had posted a while back about his Lymphoma - it was almost 2 years ago that the doctor confirmed that he had it...and after being in remission after a series of chemo treatments, the cancer came back late this summer. He lasted longer than the vet thought he would - but today he was ready to go. He was having trouble breathing and couldn't keep any food or water down.
I can't believe my boy is gone.

I'm so sorry Aimee. You're going to hear this a lot in the next few days, but you really did the right thing. He's not in pain and can be happy. I'm sorry for your loss.

i am so very sorry. i went through the same thing with our rottweiler three years ago. it was heartbreaking, but he is in a better place now, where he is no longer in any pain. many many  to you.
