Lately she's been posting half naked pics of herself like crazy on twitter and in magazines. That combined with her being with him again shows me that she is nothing but an insecure pathetic person.
Clearly she has no respect for herself since she let this man beat the bejesus out of her and comes back for me. I wanna just punch her in the face, but she probably would like that.

I don't know what to think
I hate him, I really do. I hated when after he beat her up, he flipped out on GMA and threw a chair thru the window.
Then I think ... Well, do we get mad if ANY girl goes out with him? Or just Rihanna? Is he supposed to be single forever for what he did? Can abusers ever change if they are committed to it?
These are the things I wrestle with.
You can bet your sweet buns that I wouldn't be back with him, though

If you recall after the abuse incident they did not break up right away. The following week they were jet sking at P Diddy's house in South Beach. She didn't want to break up with him, but I think did it due to people like us calling for it. I even said to DH they would get back together in a year or 2, but to protect her "image" at the time she ended it.
I don't think he's "changed or reformed". Its sad that her self esteem is so low she just couldn't leave him alone.

Yup, this.
I think she's trashy for other reasons...not bc she's with chris brown. But mostly I think she's misguided. She said something in her interview with oprah that helped me understand her a little more though.
she may not make the best decisions but she's not as dumb as she seems. I understand her feeling of "he needed help, who's going to help him?" However, after all that she went through to then also fight for his affection while he carries on a relationship with another woman? oh hell no.

I don't feel sad for her - I feel sad for a woman who is abused and doesn't have the support, finances, etc to get away at all - She has MORE than enough access to the money, time, supporters (hello, the entire world) therapists, etc etc - And you go back ??
And while I don't think every woman who is abused and takes her abuser back is 'trashy' - I absolutely think she's a bad role model. - And Rihanna isn't 'every wonam' she's a very central, public figure - a woman who has a very large fan base of YOUNG women -
Boo hoo to her self esteem - she's not a child, she's a grown woman who has CHOSEN an job in the public eye - get your sh*t together, grow up and EARN your paycheck !!

I think she's young, stupid, and in love. Would I take him back? No. But I always knew they would get back together. She has clearly never gotten over him...that's always been obvious. I do think she acts out and is a lil crazy but she still doesn't bother me. Flame away. She's a 24 year old pop star living the rock n' roll lifestyle. Also, on the role model front...I do not think that every person in the limelight is and should be a role model. I feel like parents need to talk to their kids about why someone is or isn't a person to look up to. I dunno...I just don't think it's fair to make it out like every famous person should be a role model for our youth. JMO of course

I don't agree with her behavior but I do agree that she shouldn't be called a role model.
She isn't a saint. She young girl born with a good voice. That doesn't make her a role model. That makes her singer/ celebrity. Not all celebs are meant to be role models (Kim K??).
I will say in this photo she is looking classy and beautiful and he is looking more thug than ever. He looks scary.
