Just curious if anyone puts rice cereal in bottles? If so...when you started...how much cereal to formula ratio?

Re: Rice Cereal in Bottles???
There is really no reason to do this at all unless your ped recommends it because of reflux issues. If you're doing it to try and have your DC sleep longer it doesn't work and it's not recommended to put cereal in their bottle for that reason.

Re: Rice Cereal in Bottles???
I agree.....we have her 4 month check up tomorrow.....I do not want to do this....just some people suggested it ..... She really is not taking to the spoon.....although...I am not sure if it is the spoon or the rice cereal she is not taking to....I think she just hates the taste of the cereal....we are lucky...she has been sleeping through the night since 4 weeks!

this is an old wives tale and has proven not to work and actually dangerous for young babies!

If she isn't taking to the spoon or the cereal she might also not be ready for solids just yet. She is on the young side to start. We started my DD at 4 months on cereal and Stage 1 fruits and veggies but she LOVED it, swallowed everything we gave her off the spoon, and couldn't get enough. I would stop trying with the cereal for a few days then try again. If she still doesn't like it wait another few days and then try again. Eventually she will figure it all out when she's ready to.
