Restaurants - Help Me To Choose
I want to take DH to a very nice restaurant here on the Island. Can you all tell me which of these restaurants you like and why? I want it to be a very nice, cozy, and sort of romantic setting. TIA!
LA Parma Restaurant
Boccaccio Restaurant
Piccolo Restaurant of Huntington
Stresa East
Butera's Restaurant-Woodbury

Hey there...to me, La Parma is family style, which does not say cozy...Bocaccio is not bad for that feeling...I think the same for Piccolo's...seems crowded a lot,so not so cozy..I don't know the other 2 places...good luck and enjoy your night out!

Piccolo's I've been to but not the other ones. We thought it was romantic and really enjoyed the food. We actually went on Vaelentine and I really don't remember it be being overly croweded.

What about the Mill Pond in centerport? Fits everything you're looking for.

I don't think any of the above are really intimate. If you are going for a cozy, intimate dinner I would second The Mill Pond in Centerport.

I think Rennaisance cafe/Joanninas (sp) in Hunt. offers nice ambiance...not cozy like you are in your own little booth and nobody sees you. But a warm atmosphere.

Re: Restaurants - Help Me To Choose
My 100% Italian friend says La Parma is her favorite restaurant. I, personally, have never been there. I looooove going to Piccolo's, but it's not super cozy or romantic - it's a little casual. So we've gone there, sat in the booth, had wine and had a wonderful time. The only other one I've been to is Butera's, which I also love! It's a little nicer than Piccolo's, but the tables are closer together so it changes the ambiance, you know?

Are we talking about Piccolo on Wall St. here? If so, I wouldn't consider it casual at all.

Re: Restaurants - Help Me To Choose
My suggestions:
Jonathan's Ristorante in Huntington Village Piccolo of Huntington Mill Pond House in Centerport Prime in Huntington (overlooking the harbor) The Clubhouse in Huntington (Jericho Tpke) - note: it's very small/intimate

I was thinking the same thing. I think that place is pretty romantic.

Re: Restaurants - Help Me To Choose
pasta pasta in port jefferson is rather romantic
cassis in huntington is noisy (on a sat night) but cosy at the same time with their 2 person tables... and their food is the best in huntington IMO

Re: Restaurants - Help Me To Choose
Love Stresa and it's romantic and quiet. Also loved the Palm Court at Eisenhower. We went there for our anniversary last year. Worth every penny.
I really like Mims but not so romantic.

I was assuming she meant the one in Merrick (or is it Bellmore?) on Sunrise Hwy. Oops.

Re: Restaurants - Help Me To Choose
I Like La Parma, the food is good, but it gets very crowded and VERY noisy. Have you ever been to Gemelli's in Babylon? The food is quite good, a little pricey though. It has a much more intimite setting.

I've heard Cassis has excellent food, but I would consider it to be more on the casual side. I know my sister and her DH go there on the weekends for brunch, but it's not a top choice for a romantic dinner.
