restaurant ideas for get together, not a party?
DD just got promoted to detective
I want to have a bunch of family & friends at a restaurant to surprise him when we go out to dinner to celebrate.
Is there anywhere that would be good to accommodate something like that?
It would have to have enough room for a large group to sit together & be kinda flexible since I don't know how many people will go, even though I should have a pretty good idea as it gets closer.
It will be at 5pm on a Saturday.
Nothing too fancy.
I'd like to stay within in 20 mins of Rockville Center area.

Awesome news maybe MacArthur park in Rvc, J Paul's, Alias Smith and Jones, union park cafe all in oceanside. Chow Baby in massapequa.

Try Lawson Pub on Lawson Blvd on Oceanside, really good, also Chadwick's in RVC or I know for sure Park Place in Floral Park has a back room, but you have to be careful with large parties on a Saturday night, most restaurants will not take a big reservation like that at that time. Also, with 25 people, they might make you pick a party menu. Good luck!

These sound good, I would also look into McQuades in lynbrook and kaseys in rvc.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've heard of all these places but didn't even think of any of them. I'll look into them to see what restaurant works.

Antonettes in Merrick has a back room that we've done things like that in.. its part of the dining room but in the back.. and the food is amazing!

Just realized that the day I want to have the dinner is the RVC parade so the whole town will be mobbed. I'm looking into the other suggestions nearby. Antonettes sounds good, I've never been there.
