repost - water breaking question?

can someone please tell me how we'll know if our water is breaking slowly if it doesn't gush out?? sorry for the tmi but sometimes its just moister down there (perspiration etc) and i lost more mucus plug early this a.m. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon thank you

mine didn't break, but i was told it will trickle. i was very wet down there near the end and mine didn't break. id call the dr to make sure.

I know this might sound gross but you should try smelling it. If it smells sweet then you might want to call the Dr, if it does not smell sweet then I would not worry.

Mine trickled also...I woke up & was wet & then went to the bathrm changed undies & then 20 min later was wet again. Some site suggested laying down & if its wet when you get up good chance its your water breaking. Call dr if you are unsure

i am in the same boat - losing mucous plug and a lot of "moisture" Chat Icon

but i think that if it were your water you would feel it trickling like pee? Chat Icon

mine broke and i didnt even know it. I woke up with extreme abdominal cramping and kept getting closer. Met DH at hospital and when the doctor went to break water, he couldnt find membrane, he said it must have just broke. i had no sign at all.

Mine broke and I was not having contractions. It felt like I was constantly wet, not like pee wet but just a small trickle. It started off slowly and then I kept feeling more and more like I was going to start to pee but I knew I did not have to. My water started to leak at about 5 pm but I did not get contractions until about 9:30 pm. I had my c-section at 10:15. I went from feeling no contractions to feeling a ton right away. I was at the hospital at 6 pm and on the monitor so I could see that I was having contractions but I just did not feel them at first.
