OK...so how do you know if it's your water gushing or if you're peeing alot (on the off chance it breaks while you're going potty)

like HOW different? You know how you can do kegels (squeeze the muscle like you're trying to stop your flow of pee)....

well I tried, and it wasn't working too well.

If it's your water breaking the flow won't stop like it would if it was pee...

You can't really control it, with pee you can. At least that was my experience.

This was in a nutshell for me when I had Joseph. I had just gone to the bathroom at my usual 3am bathroom call, went back to lay down in bed and felt a very small gush. I knew right away that it wasn't pee. I was only 34 weeks so I wasn't expecting it, but you just know because it's different. Shortly afterwards the contractions started which just confirmed what I already knew.

My water broke with a huge gush (he was breech) so there was no mistaking it was my water and me not peeing. Plus, you can't stop it, it just keeps coming (at least it did for me).

Re: another water breaking question...

I was sure my water broke a few days before I had Katie, until the Dr. broke it and then I was REALLY sure.

Hang in there, and get some sleep while you can!

Re: another water breaking question...

You will know. The feeling is similiar to peeing because its a gush of fluid, but definatly different...

If it breaks in a gushits like a release and you cannot control it at all...hard to explain but trust me you will know Chat Icon
