replacing bottle with solids
At what age (how many months) did you start replacing a bottle with solids? Also can you tell me how much solids (the amount of cereal + food) were you given to replace the bottle.
I'm just trying to get an idea for my LO. She just turned 6 months old and has 5 - 6oz bottles a day (drinks anywhere from 4 to 6oz for each bottle) and 2 meals a day. I feel like her feedings are on top of each other. I know solids should only be for practice before she turns one but when do I start transitioning her to replacing a bottle with food?

Re: replacing bottle with solids
DS started cereal around 6 months and fruits/veges around 8.
The cereal was not to replace bottles, it was to get him used to eating.
We started w/ small amounts and added as he got used to eating off a spoon.
When he started to get excited when we were eating and kept eating his food we increased his food.
