Renting baby stuff in Florida/ Bringing Car seat Question
My DH and I are finally going away with our DS in August to Florida. We have not been on vacation in 2 years, this is our first baby after years of dealing with infertility. He will be 7 months when we go and we will be staying in my grandmothers house, she passed away years ago and my dad was not able to rent it. The question is where will he sleep. Is there a place where I can rent a pack n play or a portable crib? What about a booster seat that I can bring to restaurants or a high chair. I don't want to feed him in the stroller the whole time.
As for the car seat I know that I can check it in on the plane but what about the base to it? My husband and I are going back and forth about whether to bring the snap n go or the city mini. I think we should bring the city mini, we can check it on the plane for free and it covers him more when we are out in the sun. As for giving him a bath, Im not taking his bath tub but I figured we could hold him, or take him in the shower with us. We will only be there for a week. Thanks so much.

Re: Renting baby stuff in Florida/ Bringing Car seat Question
Not sure where in Florida you are going, but I rented from A Baby's best friend in Orlando and they were great. We rented a crib, booster seat, and exersaucer. I would just google to find a place in the area you are visiting.
I would bring the City Mini for the reasons you stated, number one being sun protection.
Not sure about the car seat, we checked ours with our luggage, base and all, b/c we didn't buy a seat for DS on the plane.

Thanks, we are going to West Palm Beach. When you checked in the base did you have to pay for it? We did not get a seat for our DS either. Ill look it up, it would be great if we could rent an exersaucer too.

Re: Renting baby stuff in Florida/ Bringing Car seat Question
We rented a bouncy seat, high chair, exersaucer and bathtub from traveling baby in April when we went to Orlando with our twins. They were 7 months at the time.
They also have cribs and pack n plays as well as other stuff. We were in a hotel so we used the hotel pack n plays.
We brought the snap n go because we were traveling with the infant seats and you can use the double city mini with 2 infant seats. For us it made more sense to have the SnG.

No, we did not have to pay to check the carseat. We had a bag for it (JJ Cole) to keep it from getting too banged up. You could also gate check it I think, but for us it was easier to get rid of it right away.
Also, we were able to stuff some overflow items from our suitcase in the bag with the carseat so that we didn't need another suitcase
