Remedy for really dry scalp?

Logan suddenly has a really dry scalp.

I only wash his hair 2x a week now, but there is still a scaley, flakey scalp.

It looks like cradle cap and it itches him a little.

Anyone know of a product you can use on a 3 year old?

Is it okay to use Head and Shoulders or something?

DS is 3 and we use Head & Shoulders. I think the Ped mentioned it a while back. We're just very careful not to get in on his face, hands or eyes. I also run a fine tooth comb through his hair a bunch of times with the shampoo in. Works great!

Our pediatrician said to use vasoline and then comb it out. Keep it in all day and wash before bed, on a day where you are both just hanging out around the house.

My son is only 3 months but had really bad cradle cap and a dry scalp. We've been using California Baby shampoo/body wash and it's really helped a lot! We bought it at Target.

H&S is ok as per my pediatrician but I was afraid bc it's not tear free. I use baby oil over night (put on with cotton ball) and comb out in the morning and then wash...
