Reglazing a tub...please help
I want to have a tub in my house refinished - or reglazed - not sure what it's called.
Have any of you had that done? Who did it and what was the cost?
I called one place and they told me $550 which seems pricey.
TIA!

Re: Reglazing a tub...please help
I think we paid $475 but that was 3 years ago so $550 doesn't sound to out of the ball park, just a little high.
The only reason we did it was because we were selling, otherwise I wasn't happy with the outcome. It did come out beautiful but if something heavy drops on it, it will chip (heavy as in shampoo or conditioner). It also started to bubble and peel the caulking.

Re: Reglazing a tub...please help
I did this once and i'll never do it again.
It's great for a quick fix, or for somebody that for example lives in a co-op as co-op renovations are a huge hassle (with board approvals and such).
If you own a house, I would just look to have the tub replaced.

A new tub is about $100-150...but the installation price I was quoted was $850!
I think I'm going to just start hosing down in the back yard LOL

I don't know if they still do this, or even do tubs, but Lowes had a thing where they would install your sink or toilet (you had to buy from them, of course) and the cost was reasonable- I think under $200. This was a while ago and I only priced the toilet and sink but it might be worth checking into.
