Reglazing a tub-- costs?
Can anyone give me an idea of how much this is?

Re: Reglazing a tub-- costs?
I just started calling a bunch of places last week to get some prices (in nassau & queens) & it seems to vary between $300-$475).
The warranty seems to be different for most places as well.

Re: Reglazing a tub-- costs?
It's about $300-$500 but honestly, I'm not sure it's worth it. We had it done at our old apartment and it looked great for about a year but then there was this bubble in the glaze that eventually opened up and kept on growing. We called the glazing ocmpany and they did it again which was fine, except we couldn't use the tub for about 2 days. It was fine again for another few months and then...the bubble thing happened again. We were very careful not to put things on the tub itself or use anything that would have caused it.
The warranty we had covered the redo but be sure you read all the fine print. If you have one of those metal stands, that can void the warranty.
In a house where getting a tub in and out is easier, it might be worth it just to get a new tub. (Our old apartment was a 4th floor walk up.)

Re: Reglazing a tub-- costs?
$300-500. It is a mixed thing. In the coop that I had several years ago in the 10 years I lived there we had to do it 3 times. It would start to peel after about 2-3 years so we would have to do it again. It is more of a temporary fix than a permanent one. So depending on your budget that is something you might want to think about. Of course it is much more money to replace the tub so it might be worth it for you to reglaze. BTW it is very smelly and you will lose your tub for several days.

I think there was just a post about a bathroom renovation that was done with a liner/Bath Fitters. It looked great!
