registry shopping

I had my shower this past Sunday!! and I noticed when I went back to my registry that were a handful of items bought that I never got. How long should I wait to buy them, I know that a few people are still sending but I don't know if those are the items from the registry or not. And with baby expected any day now I don't want to wait till the baby gets here. How long would you wait??

Re: registry shopping

Good question and I'm not really sure what you should do.

You would hope that people would send you the gift soon, but others might not send until after you give birth.

I guess if it is something you need now, then get it now. I'm sure with some of the things, you can wait a little while.

Re: registry shopping

If it's something really important- like the car seat or snap n go, or changing pad- basically if it's something you will need in the first few weeks, go buy it, and keep your receipt. If you get the duplicate in the mail, you can return it with your receipt.
If it was something like an umbrella stroller or high chair- which you won't need for 5 months or so, I would wait longer.

I agree. Plus it was probably people who couldn't make the shower and could be dropping it off at your house any day now. That's what happened for my bridal shower.

Also those that couldn't make it, probably ordered it online and are sending it. Some procrastinate so they could have done it late.

When are you due? Could you wait a week?

I agree. If it's an essential, buy it and save your receipt or return the one you will get as a gift. If it's an item you can wait on, I would wait.
