Registry question...bottle sterilizer
Is this a useful/necessary item? I didn't register for one- I planned on washing them myslef and letting them air dry. Am I nuts?

Re: Registry question...bottle sterilizer
Once the bottles are exposed to the air, they are no longer sterile, so spending too much time and effort trying to sterilize bottles won't gain you anything....

I have a dishwasher- does that mean I could use the dishwasher if needed instead of the sterilizer?

Re: Registry question...bottle sterilizer
I boiled them for 5 min the 1st time I used them & when my DD was sick. My peds said the sterilizer is a waste of $$$ just boil them when u 1st get them.

Same here. I will probably also get the microwave sterlilizer bags because I've heard they're so easy to use.

Re: Registry question...bottle sterilizer
never used it... Dr said to sterilize the first time in a pot of hot water, then to not worry about it any more...

Re: Registry question...bottle sterilizer
Waste of money on our end. We used it once, and the only reason I did not return it was b/c Dh throw the box away. I boil water and clean the bottles that way.

Re: Registry question...bottle sterilizer
I didn't register for one because everyone said it was a waste. I have a dishwasher though. I would probably run the bottles once a week.

Re: Registry question...bottle sterilizer
i have the avent microwave sterilizer and love it. Originally i got it for sterilizing the pieces to my breast pump but when BFing didn't work for me I used it for the bottles and still at 7 months i use it for her bottles. It doesn't take up any extra time. it's only 2 minutes in the microwave.
