No, I don't think it's tacky!
We sren't bc my parents are buying us our furniture, but if they weren't we'd probably be registering for it. A bunch of people might want to all chip in to buy it for you. If not, you just buy it yourself. Registering for it can't hurt!

I don't think it is tacky at all. I like others am not because my mom is going to be purchasing ours (she bought for my sisters also).

My parents bought our cribs, but I would have registered for them otherwise. It is a good big gift for a group to go in on or for a very close family member to purchase.

We registered for the crib. Definitely not tacky. Our sis in law ended up buying us the crib and our parents bought us the furniture. Definitely register for it.
