Refurbished or Pre-owned Ipods?
My mini finally bit the dust. I was thinking about getting a refurbished or pre-owned one from Overstock.com or Target. Anybody have bad experiences with Ipods that have been "used"? Would you even bother for the $50.00 savings?

The only reason I didn't bother was cuz it's only $50 less...I'd rather have the security of a new one with the warranty for $50 more.

That was my thinking but I noticed overstock.com offered a two-year protection plan for @ $10. And the $50 bucks I save can go into my gas tank!
I just don't want to open it up and find used earbuds. eeeeeeeew

I've gotten refurbished cameras from Canon- they are perfectly fine.
Refurbished items come straight from the manufacturer and are usually packaged just like the new ones- with new accessories.
I wouldn't buy one off craigslist- but I would buy refurbished.

Re: Refurbished or Pre-owned Ipods?
A refurbished one would probably be fine. But I don't suggest buying a used one. THe batteries don't last very long and can't be replaced. They're designed to only work so long before you need to buy a new one. So if you buy a used one, you won't get much time out of it.
There are also many cheaper MP3 players on the market. When my ipod dies I won't buy a new one. I still kick myself for giving away my sandisk mp3 player when I got an ipod as a gift. It was so much better.
