Reflux moms, how to elevate crib mattress?
DS is on zantac and the doctor told us to elevate the crib mattress so he sleeps on an incline. What do you put under the mattress? I don't want something heavy like books that might break the crib, and I tried towels and they flattened...

Go out and buy this tomorrow:
Safe Lift Crib Wedge-$14.99 at BRU
It works great for DD who has had bad reflux since birth and is now 12 months old.

Don't elevate the mattress, elevate the crib. Use books on one side

I bought an incline that goes under the sheet. I got it at BRU for $12. If your crib has wheels you can also take the wheels off the foot of the crib.
Honestly the inclines never worked for DS because he would always roll off it and if you incline the crib and he rolls off his head ends up lower than his feet KWIM?

Re: Reflux moms, how to elevate crib mattress?
I always used a rolled up blanket or pillow under the mattress and it worked fine. I didn't feel the need to buy the wedge. If I wanted more elevaltion I'd elevate the crib as the pp said.

I bought these when DS was teething, not for reflux but they'd work for you too:
CRIB BLOX, on sale in loads of places, I think Prince Lionheart is the manufacturer!

My friend had a big wedge that she streapped her DC to. WE have a slight inclined wedge that we use for DS.

Re: Reflux moms, how to elevate crib mattress?
I have the Safe Crib Wedge too for our crib. But right now DD is still in the bassinet. I have a pregnancy wedge that fits in there perfectly to elevate one end of the bassinet mattress. Well every night she slides herself down so she is in the non-elevated part. I also have her sleep propped on the Boppy in a cradle in the livingroom and she also shimmies herself down so she is lying flat when she sleeps.
