Refi interest rates and closing costs?
I am curious to know what rates banks are currently offering for re-fi. Anyone gotten a quote recently?
I was also curious to know what closing costs you had to pay. We own a condo and do not escrow if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
ETA -- looking for a 30-year fixed.

We just closed on our house with BFCU two weeks ago. I cannot stop recommending them, as they have the lowest rates and fees around and we did A LOT of comparison shopping. The entire experience was quick, taking exactly 30 days from full contract to closing, and everyone was a pleasure to work with!

I 3rd BFCU! We just re-fi'd with them as well. Our rate was 4.875% and we closed within 45 days - before our rate lock expired. Our closing costs were minimal as well. We couldn't be happier with them.
Today their rate is 5.125% - their new rates go live at 11:00am every day.

I just got pre-qualified with them (thanks to Beth) and they were a PLEASURE to work with and their "bank" closing costs are only $500!! their interest rate is slightly higher then teachers FCU, so I'm not sure if we will actually take our mortgage through them, but the experience has been great so far!!! (teachers has very low closing costs as well)

Re: Refi interest rates and closing costs?
we looked into this a month ago and it didn't make sense (since we aren't planning on staying long term).
we dropped the idea until, our broker called us and said the rates have really been fluctuating A LOT lately.
he emailed me today and said he could get us 4.875%. but it seems to change almost daily.
He advised us to fill out the paperwork and so he would have it on file, and if he sees a low enough rate that would make sense for us, we will continue. If not, we will just stick with what we have.
HTH. we are in a coop and bought our home about a year ago.

Re: Refi interest rates and closing costs?
we closed on our refi last week. We got 4.625% for a 15yr (we locked in early May). Closing costs were just under $4K (which we recoup in just over a year).
That was with our current lender (indyMac/OneWest) so we were able to save on the NYS mortgage tax.
