Redoing my bedroom .... need design help
Ok, so I still haven't done it as I can't really find anything I love.
My furniture is a very dark, almost black matte mahogany. Clean lines, silver hardware. I love it and its the only thing about my room I like LOL.
So I really want a grey/ivory/aqua theme. Aqua is my favorite color and I love it in a bedroom. So here are my contenders.......
I bought this just b/c it was the last one they had in a King. I don't love it but it could work well with the color scheme:
http://www.target.com/Fieldcrest-Luxury-Coverlet-Set-Silver/dp/B0011ECOVW/ref=br_1_3?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&qid=1273208751&searchView=grid5&sr=1-3&node=2226589011&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=1&searchSize=30&id=Fieldcrest%20Luxury%20Coverlet%20Set%20Silver&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel%2Csubjectbin%2Ctarget_com_age%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin
Then I found this - not sure how I feel about it. http://www.target.com/Home-Paisley-Comforter-Set-Gray/dp/B002KCWWOI/ref=br_1_14?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&qid=1273208279&searchView=grid5&sr=1-14&node=14125281&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=2&searchSize=30&id=Home%20Paisley%20Comforter%20Set%20Gray&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel%2Csubjectbin%2Ctarget_com_age%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin
Then I check Kohls and I can't tell if this is grey or taupe. Its a GREAT price for 20 pieces. I do like it but I wonder if I can even add aqua to it as an accent. I'm really at a loss with this one:

Onto the headboard - we need one b/c my hubby is taking paint off the wall in his sleep LOL. I like this one - was thinking the ivory/natural in the twill material.

I bought new lamps already which I LOOOOVE. They're clear with silver/grey lampshades. Trying to just get all the pieces for my new fab rom.
Am I onto something here or should I nix it and start over?

Love the Kohl's one the best... but it really screams silver to me, I am not sure if that's the color you are going for?

I definitely don't like the first one from Target. It seems to shiny and very formal and I don't get that impression that, that is what you want. The second one I like better and the third I like too, but I agree with Trish that it looks more like silver.
I also think you need to be careful with the background color of the bedding you pick because I think it will clash with the headboard (it looks cream to me). I know for me, I would bother me to see a cream headboard, with a pale gray background in the bedding or even white as the background color.
Did you think about a solid color duvet and then adding accents of Aqua?

Silver is actually fine - I don't mind it at all.
I'm going to keep my walls the same they are now - its a greyish ivory but change the accent wall behind the bed to a grey.
I was hoping to do aqua accessories and curtains. I've seen aqua colored stuff with a grey undertone to it and I love it. I need to get away from brown b/c my whole house is brown and if I do another room in brown Neil may leave me
The Kohls one is out of stock so i'd have to order it but i do like it and will probably just get that one.
A - you're right about the headboard. They do have it in a light grey so I'll just order it in that color. It has a silver undertone to it and since my hardware in the room is silver it'll match. The only bad thing about it is that its a silk material (fake) so I'll just have to be careful and keep the kids and dog off the bed.....yeah I know, good luck

Love the headboard, but not the comforters. I think you need to keep looking. If you went with the light headboard with your dark furnture, I love that. Nice contrast. Maybe you could find a aqua comforter. I think that would look awesome. Then you could bring gray in as you accent with little splashes of aqua accents too to bring it all together. I would really check out Ikea for these colors. One thing about Ikea bedding is that if you buy it and open it you can not return it. So you have to love the comforter and know you are going to keep it. Then look for some aqua accents, like small vases. I will try to look around a little later for some ideas.

Thanks :)
I have literally searched EVERYWHERE. I'm not kidding. I've been looking for months, have visited every store, every online store, Homegoods at least 5 times and 2 different locations, West Elm, Pottery Barn, PB Outlet, Burlington - you name it. I'm getting frustrated at this point b/c there is NOTHING. The Kohl's one is the closest I can find to what I semi like.
The Target one comes in aqua but I don't love it. I need to just do this room and be done. I'm almost leaning towards a custom comforter. I'll try the Fabric Mill to see if anything strikes me b/c there is literally nothing out there.

I love the kohls one and think it would go well with what you described and changing out the headboard to a gray color
those colors are easy to work with so if you get sick of the aqua, you could change out the window treatments and get a totally different look. I would do simple striaght panels
