Red patches on cheeks.
Anyones toddler get this?
My dd has it on both cheeks. One worse than the other. I am thinking maybe eczema. Could it be a dairy irritation? Or allergy to something outside? When she wakes up the patch is there but not red. Then throughout the day is varies. I almost think it's worse when we've been outside.

Re: Red patches on cheeks.
DS has this. The first time it happened I thought it was because he was sick, so I brought him to his pediatrician. She was able to explain it in much better detail, but basically it happens in the winter because going outside in the cold and then back into a warm environment makes the blood vessels in the face react like that. She said there's no reason for concern because it's not really anything that's hurting him. She recommended putting Aquaphor on his face in the morning. At first it definitely helped, but DS hates that stuff on his skin so we've just learned to live with it. Now that the weather is getting nicer, it should stop happening.

Red patches on cheeks.
Is the redness accompanied by tiny bumps? If so, it could be keratosis pilaris. It's a harmless skin condition.

Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Nighttime Balm works for us. Keeps the redness away if i apply it every night

Re: Red patches on cheeks.
This used to happen to my dc. Always seemed worse after being outside. Sounds like eczema. It can flare up or become worse with teething, sickness, weather changes, diet changes...you name it. aquaphor never really helped my dc, we saw a derm. The aveeno eczema line is good. Also anything fleece rubbing on it can make it worse, pj's stuffed friends, blankets. My dc would rub the patches with anything to scratch it.

DD gets this from being outside. She has bad eczema and wind and sun really do a number on her. I put a bit of Aquaphor on her face before we go out and when we get home its a warm bath and then CeraVe cream. I do use her prescription stuff if it gets real bad.
