Recommend your Hernia surgeon in Nassau
It looks like I have a hernia and will need surgery. Waiting on CT results, but while I'm waiting, would you please recommend your surgeon? Its near my belly button...
Thanks!

Dr. Michael Khaliffe or Dr. David Halpern. Both are with Winthrop.

I had an umbilical hernia after having DS #1. I used Dr. Ward and he was great!

Re: Recommend your Hernia surgeon in Nassau
Dr. George DeNoto in Lake Success was my DHs gallbladder surgeon. He was awesome and does many abdominal surgeries.

I don't remember who his surgeon was but DH had the same surgery a few years back. I just wanted to tell you the surgery was super short, he hardly has a scar and recovery was pretty fast.

My dad had to have this surgery twice. Once was back in 86 or 87... over night hospital stay and he was in bed for 2-3 weeks. Next time, '99 and wow, what a difference! In and out ambulatory wing of the hospital... sore for maybe a day (he had a stroke a year before) or two. He was back to normal activity in no time. We joked that it took longer for the mechanic to fix my car
Good luck

Re: Recommend your Hernia surgeon in Nassau
Thanks so much everyone! My biggest concern is that is going to prevent me from TTCing #2! I've been waiting to try for almost a year and was ready to go this cycle!

i don't know who my dad used but he had the surgery a couple of months ago. He is in his 70's and was fine right after the surgery. he stopped the gym for 6 weeks and didn't lift anything more than 15 lbs. he felt fine other than my dog jumping on his lap.

My husband is having this surgery on Friday. He is using Dr. Fitterman. He came highly recommended. Glad to hear recovery is quick.

I don't think it should affect TTC. I had one repaired- that I didn't even know I had - when I was having my gallbladder out. The only restricitons were no lifting anything more than 10 lbs for about 6 weeks. You'll be sore for about a week- but the recovery was not bad at all!
