Recommend a OB/GYN
ok, so I'm just thinking ahead, but I will like to switch OB/GYN for whenever I get pregnant.
I'm currently going to Garden OB/GYN and they are good for your regular pap and annual visit. Not sure for pregnancy. I want to be able to see the same Dr. every time I go in.
I had surgery done at North Shore LIJ hospital and had a very positive experience there, so I would like to deliver there preferably.
And also I prefer female.
Any suggestions, good experiences preferably nassau county border with suffolk will be most appreciated.

Unless you see a sole practitioner, which is rare for an OB, you will have to see more than one dr. No dr can be on call 24/7/365. So you see every dr in a practice so you are familiar with whoever will be on call when you deliver. If you see a smaller practice where you only see 1 dr, then the chances are that the dr partners with another practice. In which case, it's likely you'd have a total stranger deliver your baby. If you don't care about delivery, then this would work for you. Otherwise, it's probably better to stick with a practice you like. You only have to see each of the other drs once, and can stick with your primary dr most of the time. And to be honest, most appts are listening to the heartbeat, asking questions and leaving.
Just my opinion.

My OB is located in Massapequa and utilizes Winthop and South Nassau for delivering. My OB is male, but I absolutely love him. Dr. Irwin Goldstein and LI OBGYN & Associates. I delivered at South Nassau and it was a beautiful experience!
He saw me throughout my entire pregnancy and delivered my son. He told me that, " I strive to deliver all of his patient's children!" Occasionally of course it can happen that he isn't available, but he utilizes another OB who is also a single practice doctor.
I prefer the smaller practices over the large especially with something so important. My girlfriend was apart of a larger practice and didn't get the doctor she wanted when delivering her daughter and had a terrible experience. The doctor had very little compassion.
I'm sure you will find exactly what you are looking for in a practice.

I believe a few ladies in here see Dr. Cohen in Woodbury but he delivers at lij Katz

My dr is further east so probably wouldn't work
But he is a solo and hasn't missed a birth in something like 20 years.
Just giving a different perspective on a solo. I was against it and was with a big practice and switched at 20 weeks. The difference in care was night and day. I was no longer a number and now part of a family.

You can try Dr Jessica Jacobs in NHP. She is in a solo practice and hasn't missed a delivery in 30+ years. The wait time from what I've heard on here can be long but if you have an early AM appointment (8am) you are in and out.
She delivers at North Shore Manhasset.

Recommend a OB/GYN
Drs. Trongone and Petrocelli. They are a two man team, located in Manhasset and deliver at North Shore LIJ Manhasset.
The doctors, nurses and office staff are great. Wait time not bad either. You meet with both of them throughout her pregnancy and are pretty much gauranteed to deliver with one of them. I prefer this over a solo and a large practice.

Recommend a OB/GYN
I love mine.. Dr. Jeanne Rohan in Great Neck, she is a NSLIJ dr and has been VERY helpful.
