Re: Recomend a place for a massage
Be very careful who you go to. I went to a place that told me I had a tumor on my back and I nearly flew off the table- the massuse was not a doctor, and I am thankful I went to the chiro right before and it was not a tumor- it was from a adjustment I got at the chiropractor. I will NEVER get a massage again- it was not relaxing after that. Sorry to be a kill joy- I used to get massages all the time. I was so freaked out and upset for weeks after this and there was NO tumor . ( Thank the lord- but what I went thru after hearing this.)

I am not sure why you would never get a massage ever again.
Obviously this person had no clue what she was talking about.
I would not let one hairdresser bad experience stopping me to get a haircut/style for the rest of my life.
To OP: I have heard great rec for Sandalwood
I have also heard great things about the Center for pain Relief and wellness in Babylon

Not to start drama here, I am not one of those people, but after going thru hearing about how I had a tumor in my back for an hour, it really freaked me out and turned me off of getting massages. Just my opinion. My doctor who I called right afterwards was furious someone would diagnosis me w/ something like that. Being what I have been thru in life, losing my Mom to cancer and hearing the word cancer , and not being abe to relax after that was horrible. I went for a massage to relax not to be panic striken I had a tumor in my back. Comparing a hair cut to being told you have a tumor in your back is two different things, just my opinion.

This was just my experience, I was just telling the person to be careful were they go. I would not want anyone to go thru what I went thru.

I was not trying to take away how bad on an experience it was. But I am not sure why you would not have a massage by someone else. Anyone just as unprofessional as her could have said that. A massage therapist, a hairdresser, a nail person, etc...
Being in the profession, I can tell you how unethic, unprofessional and COMPLETELY out of her scope of practice she was. She CANNOT diagnose you with anything. She could only mention it to you that she "thought" something "might" look abnormal. I have mentioned lesions or abnormal looking moles to my clients. There are "delicate" ways to say it. Some knew, some did not. Most people do not see their back and never have a dermatologist looking at them. Saying "tumor" was completely out of line. She is not a Dr. I have no idea why any massage therapist would say that. Unless she listened too much to some teachers I have heard of. She confused her pathology classes and real life application...aka her scope of practice... aka.. massage not medicine!
I do hope you do not give her on massages because of a bad apple.
