Rechargable Batteries
Do these eventually die also? I feel like it is taking longer and longer to snap a pic on the digital even when they are fully charged.

Yes, they have a useful life. At a certain point, they won't hold a charge anymore. My camera battery is a lithium rechargeable and it says it has a life of about 300 recharges!

I am having this problem right now with my digital camera batteries...I "thought" I fully charged them and when I went to go use my camera today, it didn't work! 
I hate my digital camera and I hate rechargeable batteries, which is why I got a new 35mm camera!
