reccommend your portable air conditioner
DH and I boufght a portable 14K BTU air conditioner today and it doesn't seem to be doing the greatest job. 14,000BTUs should be plenty for the size of our bedroom (about 400 square feet, maybe a tad less) so i'm thinking it might be the unit itself that is cr@p, or maybe i'm getting a little ahead of myself. Can you recommend yours?

According to this calculator: http://www.home-air-care.com/acsize.htm , you should be able to use a 9,000-10,000 BTU A/C unit.
What type did you get? Since it's brand-new, are all of the packing pieces out? Is it bringing in outside air, or recirculating inside air? Is the water draining properly? How cold does the air coming out of the vents feel?
