Really dumb question but do squirrels build nests?
I keep watching these squirrels run around in the tree with branches. I can't see where they go though.
And I keep finding branches all over my lawn

Yes, they build rather larges nests (in comparison with birds). Usually high up in the trees - you will see them come fall/winter.

Yes - they probably have started already.
Sorry, I meant once the leaves fall you will see the abandoned nests.

I found the nest. It is HUGE. All the way at the top of the trees.

We were just noticing the branches all over our yard too! We have so far found 2 squirrel nests way up high!
