Hi everyone, I am back and I have my BF question
I posted some pictures on the PG board for anyone that is intrestead.
So my question is that I am EBF and it is going so well but my boob are engorged now and I don't know what to do. She eats every 2-3 hours and 15 mins on each breast so they get full fast again. Should I pump or should I just deal with it and eventually they will go down? If I pump when should I do it and does it mean I will need to be a slave to pump now?

Congratulations!!
I would pump right after feeding. I don't think you will become a slave to it... I am EBFing too but I like to have 2-3 bottles in the freezer for emergencies. You can always pump & dump if you don't want to give any bottles. Not sure how to get your supply down tho.

If it's very uncomfortable I would pump but not to empty yourself just a little to get relief otherwise you'll develop an oversupply problem like I did(not fun!). You can also try a warm shower.

I would hand express enough to gain comfort, but I wouldn't pump. BF is all about supply and demand, so you if you keep demanding with the pump, you will keep making more, and have an over supply. I remember the first week or so being so hard b/c I was so full all the time. It will level itself out though. Keep up the good work! Sounds like DD is a champ at breast feeding.

I agree, It's all supply and demand, your body is still getting used to making the right amount of milk for your baby. After a few days it should even itself out. That's great that you and your baby are doing so well with the BFing!
I would say try the warm shower first or maybe even just warm washcloth over them to relieve the pressure, since it's annoying to use the pump just to pump a little milk (then you have to wash all the parts, etc). Or hand express the milk.

I would pump a little afterwards, I had to do the same when I first started BF Julia. My milk was coming in so fast, and when I went to feed her sometimes she would gag cause there would be so much milk coming out it would squirt her in the face--lol
