Really Confused about Ovulation
Does anyone here get really really bad ovulation cramps for a whole week? Since this is my second month off of BCP I have noticed I get really bad pains when I am ovulating….at least I am assuming I am ovulating. I am not temping or anything only looking at when I am supposed to ovulate through a calendar. Is this normal? I also noticed I did not see any EWCM and I made sure to really check for that. In fact one time a year or so ago, I missed a month of pills and I saw EWCM that month. Now that I am officially off my pills I have not seen that again. Since I get painful cramps for a few days when is the day I ovulate towards the end?? Did I not ovulate? I am starting to think I don’t ovulate. Sorry so long and to sound clueless this whole process has me so confused. Thanks.

Re: Really Confused about Ovulation
Before DH and I were TTC I really didn't pay much attention so I would tend to miss ovulation.
But there are months where I know I should be ovulating so I pay more attention to my body and do feel cramping. Some months its stronger or worse then others. I think if you are cramping then you are ovulating.

Re: Really Confused about Ovulation
The month after I went off the pill, I had very sharp pains on my left side for several days. It felt like a pulled muscle. I'm pretty sure they were ovulation pains.
Your body may take a while to adjust to being off the pill. You may ovulate late or not at all some months. I didn't ovulate until CD 19 or 20 that first month. If you really want the best estimate of when you're ovulating, you should chart and/or use OPKs. Good luck!

Re: Really Confused about Ovulation
Both months I did not see EWCM but I did feel those really bad pains for days during the same week does that mean I didn't ovulate? Does EWCM have to be present when you ovulate?

I don't think it needs to be present. I tried to judge when I was ovulating based on CM, but I found that wasn't helpful. Your body is still adjusting to being off the pill so you may not have EWCM at all or as much as you should. EWCM can help with conception. If you're worried about lack of EWCM, you can always use preseed.

Thank you!! I feel like my head is spinning. I am looking at everything and studying everything that happens to me. I feel like I am freaking out again and something is wrong. I am trying to be calm.
