Take a 2.5 inch piece of tape and slide it between the rows of your keyboard and see all the gunk that you catch!!!
I know you can do this, you're AT your computer!

I do this all the time...I hate a dirty keyboard...oh and I also turn the keyboard over a few times and whack the crap out it til nothing is falling out of it

I am the help desk at my job. people here try that all the time but we just shake out the keyboard or blow it out with a can of air. Also clean it with alcohol when it is not turned on.
