Come on, I can't be the only one who has gone through crazy mincromanaging bosses at work (well, at least for the past 2 years)...

my "boss" sent one of the maintenance staff to fetch me out of the ladies room b/c he had to know at that exact moment and not a moment later if i had left a document in the exact place he wanted it.

My manager at my last job would HAUNT this girl who used to wear these open toed shoes that had open backs as well and they would make a slight "flip" noise when she'd walk.. Well this manager would stick her head out the door of her office, clear her throat to get her attention and just slowly look at her feet. As to say "Your shoe noise is irritating me"..

This same woman would make you go home if you wore a skirt with no hosery...... What century are we in?

Called me at my sister in law's funeral to ask how to order breakfast to his apartment using the corporate account.

Filled out my very first college financial aid form - for her daughter

When I wanted to use a personal day to have Halloween off, he said personal days were used for things like doctor's appointments & stuff you couldn't do during the work day. I told him I couldn't see a kid's Halloween parade from my office so I'd be out. He said "What if I said no?" I said "Then I quit on October 30th. If you need an admin, I'll be available to start on November 1st."

HA! Speaking of micromanaging.... Some CEO was just leaving a meeting here and I hear him down the hall "I had to call Bethany at least once today to get my boarding pass. I swear, If you don't micromanage women- nothing happens!"

called me on my wedding day because he got thrown out of his hotel room because he 'set"a small fire in his room...

geez .. and called me and emailed me through out my entire honeymoon....

I responded and spoiled him..

My last boss had me on a special "project" I had to have an important paper laminated in clear hard acrylic, kind of like a paperweight. I thougt it was for a fund he just closed. I had to find the cheapest company and then rush downtown from Rock center with this "important document" sealed in an envelope.

2 weeks later I was called to pick it up, it was his son's 1st drawing of a stick figure

Same boss had me take his range rover into the service....had no washer fluid . I had to go to his apt many times to let in various service people although he had a housekeeper.

OHHHH and he got mad at me because the headset for his cell phone that he bought HIMSELF wasnt the one he wanted. Told me that I should have researched it for him, uh hello how the hell do I know what your doing on the weekends?

he had me arrange pickup of his dirty laundry from china back to THE OFFICE!!!! he didnt want to carry it home with him, God forbid!

the day that he decided to fire 1/2 the staff and tell those remaining that we were relocating 20 mins west, we were in the warehouse doing a group goodbye. he came in and said "do this on your own time guys. there's no need to be dramatic". hellooo?????

my final straw of his insanity was when he threw a report back in my face and told me i was an idiot. buh-bye!

OMG! I could write a BOOK!

Let's see. At my last firm, the "managing partner" never did any work, the associate and I did it all. She spent her entire day split between match.com and placing ads on craigslist to have sex with random men

When the associate left (still my good friend) they called his FATHER and told him what an awful job he had done (totally not true). And when I went out on dr's orders at 36 weeks pregnant, the managing partner used that as an excuse to blame every.single.thing that was going wrong on me. I ultimately got fired for not mailing a traffic ticket out for my boss. It sat for 2 days

Not to mention that the partner was drunk when I got to the office at 8:30am and used to make everyone walk his dog that would sh!t and pizz in all of the other offices on the floor

I could go on for DAYS

My short-lived career (I am a stay-at-home Mom now) WAS The Devil Wears Prada. Seriously. I worked for some psycho b*tches.

First boss had me shop for the card and the gift for her and her husband's 10th wedding anniversary. I had no idea what to get him, so I bought a bunch of stuff and she "picked" the card and gift she liked best. She also had me go to her home and "organize" (read: clean) her basement office. She also had me shop for her nephew and nieces Xmas gifts and send the gifts to some military base where the kids were living. Well, apparently the sister didn't think my wrapping job was that great, so on a Sat morning in January I get a msg from my boss saying she is "very disappointed" in me.
Same boss also only liked her coffee "khaki colored" and wouldn't drink it unless it was the perfect COLOR.

Second boss was just impossible. Very high up at a Cosmetics company in NYC. Made over $1million a year, but was in major debt and would call us at the office and have us get money out of her 401k b/c she was so broke. She was so wrapped up in her own life that one time when she actually had a second to ask me about myself, she goes: "gosh, I don't even know much about you. do you have a boyfriend?" and I was like, "I'm married." Idiot. She was just a trainwreck.

Had his wife call me & ask for her social security number.

calls me from SC to have me call his doctor in SC for appointments.

When his bank manager called to tell me his wife was bouncing a check, I arranged to have money transferred in from his account. When I told him about the bounced check, he said I need to transfer money to her account. I said I already did it. He said "How did you do it?" I said "Don't worry. I told the bank manager to limit my transfers to no more than $2500 at a time"

This wasn't to me, but has one of the highest paid VPs of the tech group help him access online "videos".

I worked for a woman who planned her work schedule around her grandkids play time. I had to keep 3 manual calendars. She would not use Outlook. One calendar was for her grandkids, one for her husband and one she kept. I had to manually update these calendars all day..

Her daughter and son in law were officers of the firm as well. they would come to me and change around the calendars once I did them.

They had somebody come and run errands for them. Wash the car, buy groceries..etc..except when we ordered lunch in one of us had to go get it because they didn't want to pay delivery charges.

I have many more stories about past bosses. Some had me rocking in a corner ready for the looney bin.
