Ready for the potty training to begin?

Hi, mamas; it's been awhile but I always end up coming back. :) My daughter is now almost 18 months and while going poo, will tell me she's doing it. When she's done she says, "No more poop." Or, (my favorite, lol): "Poop again." She doesn't do this with pee, and to be honest sometimes she gets confused with gas and will pass it and then tell me she pooped. I will ask her if she did and she goes, "No!" So, clearly the gal has her farts and poos mixed at times. Sorry, this is gross. Anyway, do you think this might mean she's ready? Should I take her to the potty if she gives me fair warning? She's so young and I'm pretty impressed!
(Edit to say I am NOT thinking we're gonna fully potty train or stop thinking about diapers--i just mean does it hurt to get the ball rolling?)

yes i think it is good to introduce the potty before they have fear especially for poop. My son was poop trained before he was pee trained because i just alwsy used the potty for poop when we were home- he was very regular

and some 18 months can be trained - so just go with the flow- it is less stressful -

By 18 months both of my DS had gone #1 and #2 on the potty. We just introduced a small potty and let them sit on it, practice "pushing", peeing, lol. They loved it.

I didn't push them at all. Just introduced it like any other toy. At 2.5 my older one was fully trained.

My younger guy is only 21 months now, so we are still working on it. He sits on it when his older brother is going.

Yes I would try potty training and go full force with the three day method! In the 1950's, over 90 percent of children were potty trained by the age of 18 months. Now less than 5 percent are. Children have not changed physiologically, but our society has become so dependent on diapers that we have delayed the potty training process for no good reason.

You need to set aside three days for potty training. Try to get her excited about it before starting. Take her to the bathroom with you, read potty books to her, tell her that the diapers will be gone soon and she will have to wear big girl underwear. Go to the store and let her pick out her own panties.

When you are ready to start, you cannot let her wear a diaper. Take her to the bathroom frequently-- every one hour for the first and second days. Every two hours after that. Do a potty dance whenever she goes. Watch her for signs, and if she starts peeing in her underwear rush her to the potty to finish. Remind her to tell you when to potty. You can put a diaper on at nap and night.

Give the method a solid 4-5 days before giving up. I know lots of people who have trained their kids around 18 months. Good luck!
