RE Referrals
Hello ladies.
I am about to take my 14 month TTC journey to the next step finally. I have PCOS and currently on Met. I am getting tired of waiting for my gyno to introduce other options.
Has anyone been to these RE's? Dr. Kathleen Droesch in port jeff and Dr. Gabriel San Roman in Stonybrook. What's your opinion on them?
Im looking for someone who has great bedside manner and is sensitive to plus sized women.
I've been through so many gyns because they seem to have a bad attitude toward me TTC and being plus sized.
Also what should I expect during my first RE visit?
Thanks so much for any help you can give.

Re: RE Referrals
Hi,
I don't know anything about these particular doctors but as far as the first appt., for us, they did ultrasound, arranged for DH & I to have bloodwork done and DH to have semen analysis and had me go for an HSG xray. That's usually what you start off doing and then take it from there.
Wishing you all the best!!

Re: RE Referrals
I see Dr. SanRoman in the Stony Brook office and am very happy there. All the doctors are great and all the staff there is so kind and caring. I had a miscarriage two weeks ago and they have been so caring and supportive.
At my first appointment, we talked about mine and DH's histories, what our plan for treatment might be, and I got a whole lot of blood drawn.

Re: RE Referrals
Dr. San Roman is my doctor over at RSofNY and I really like them. I'm going for my first IUI in about 2 weeks. My gynocologist recommended them so I havent been anywhere else. I've read some unflattering things about them on here but i have to say they've been really great with me so far. Dr. San Roman is great...very down to earth and very easy to talk to. I'm on the heavier side myself and they've never said anything to me about it. HTH

Re: RE Referrals
I have a consult with Dr. Droesch on April 2 at the Melville office.
I think Laurenexp posted a list of questions to ask the RE. If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find it.
Good luck!!!!

Re: RE Referrals
I don't have any experience with either doctor. However, I wanted to wish you good luck!
During my first RE visit, the doctor took extensive histories from both DH and myself. We brought copies of our past medical records. he then did an ultrasound of me and sent both of us for extensive bloodwork.

Re: RE Referrals
I am a patient with RSOFNY (Dr.San Roman), the Stony Brook Office...I was successful there in 2005 with IUI and am currently seeing them again for #2 with IVF....I have seen all the doctors in the Stony Brook office (mainly Dr.Stelling) and they are all very down to earth and I have always been happy with them....They will discuss your history, will most likely set you up for CD 3 bloodwork, have a SA done and possibly set up an HSG if one wasnt done already.. Good Luck !!!

Re: RE Referrals
I started out with Dr. San Roman. I really liked his outlook and he was a little whacky, which I liked. The office in Stony Brook is really great. But, I actually switched to Dr. Copperman at RMA of NY. Why you ask? I knew we were going to end up doing IVF (just gut feeling) and I wanted a place that had a great rep, with high success rates for women my age (now 40) and had a really good lab of their own. I've been told that it really comes down to the lab. Lots of people have had great success with Dr. San Roman. Good luck.
FM me if you want anymore info.

I'm on the plus size and really hope she doesn't tell me the same thing. I'm almost 39 and really don't have time to lose X amount of lbs.
