Sasha...

Children do what they are taught to do..MOST ADULTS FOLLOW the principals of which they were raised...

NOT exactly a shocker there ...

DO some deviate from their childhood...SURE.

USUALLY in the teens to late teens to early adults..

NOT as children.

So if a child is taught that peaching God and going door to door is fun for a sunday afternoon..THEY THINK THAT IS FUN

If they are taught to go to sunday mass....they do that and think it is normal

IF THEY ARE TAUGHT DISGUSTING HATEFUL THINGS .....THAT IS WHAT THEY THINK..

IT isn't until they are older and are exposed to other things in life do their know ANYTHING BETTER OR DIFFERENT

NOT A HARD CONCEPT TO GRASP...

this is how religion, hate, love, good and bad perpetuates...

I do tend to agree with Red in that kids born into this lifestyle don't have free will. I went to college in Arizona where there is a huge Mormon population. Every kid I knew that was raised Mormon was over there going NUTS partying because they had been raised in such a strict environment. Thi sis kind of off the point but I do think that parents that have strongt beliefs in a religion CAN do their children a disservice by forcing them into their strict religion. I don't believe every child wants to spread the word, some do some don't. I also personally(this is just me so don't everyone get all crazy) that religious upbringings can give a child a "sheep" mentality ex. go with the flow, don't make waves, etc. This is probably why we will not raise our children with a specific religious belief but let them know you can believe in a higher power and prayer it does not have to be organized. I do answer the fdoor and kindly tell JW's that I am not interested.

I AM SO SICK OF THEM! They are at our door EVERY WEEK!

I am really tempted to put out a sign saying- Please don't not solicite and just point at the sign when they come by.

They love our block and it drives me nuts!

Re: Jehovas Witnesses

I found this really odd but about 5 yrs ago I was working as a nanny in happaugue and they came to the door and introduced themselves and I must have given them my name (not sure). I told them I was not interested. Yet, 6 months later they came to the door said Hey Paulette and began talking like we knew each other...I wasnt interested the first time and now I apparently had friends Chat Icon

Okay...I do not usually hop on to Dramatic Threads and will keep my opinions to myself.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that.

Instead of complaining about what Jehovah's Witnesses do, the next time they come to your door. Request to be put on the "DO NOT CALL LIST" They will mark it down, and leave you alone.Chat Icon

Re: Jehovas Witnesses

I did not read this entire thread but I am uncomfortable with people coming to my door unannounced because my yard is fenced in and I often have Murphy (my dog) running around out there and if they open the gate to come to my door and Murphy either runs out of the gate or bites someone who is stepping onto my property... heads would roll!

Re: Jehovas Witnesses

Wow, won't this thread just die already?? I was just complaining about having my day with my family interupted, they are few and far between with DH working 6 days a week, by people knocking at my door. It has taken on a life of it's own and now I think it's time for it to die so we can bury it!!!!
